500 miles!

Sunday, May 25 (Day 9)

Distance: 56 miles (+6 more)
Average: 10.7 mph
Max: 19.3 mph
Total: 506 miles!!

The day started out with both Remi and Jason, although Jason quickly headed in another direction, his tour coming to an end.

We rode for 40 miles before stopping for lunch in front of a hospital. A man and out to smoke a cigarette and said "We wait and wait for the sun to come out and when it does, we look for the shade."

How true that is! I finally got a bit of a burn today before realizing I should put sunscreen on.

We made it to the Saint Clair river, which was gorgeous. I nearly fell while looking at this particular sight, and then decided if it was worth falling over, I should take a picture.

We crossed the river to the US on a ferry (cheaper for cyclists than pedestrians!).

Now we're sitting in a cafe, catching up on blog, email, and assorted communication. Remi's blog is tourtoelsewhere.tumblr.com

Today is my last day with Remi. Too bad, it's really great to have company!

6 miles to our campsite for the night, and then a new chapter of this journey begins.
