About me

I'm Natasha (trail name Crafty). My adventuring began just after my sophomore year of college. Feeling overwhelmed and unable to keep up with the pressures I felt, I decided to get rid of most of my belongings, acquire a bicycle and some cheap camping equipment, and set off for a cross-country bike ride by myself from Ithaca, NY to San Francisco, CA.

The adventure bug bit me hard! I absolutely loved my bike ride. I had countless encounters with lovely people, witnessed beautiful sights, and gained an incredible amount of confidence and excitement for adventuring. The self-reliance, pure magic, and solitude are a balm to my being, and I cherish each trip I've been so fortunate to embark upon. I grow in new ways from every long distance trip I undertake, and I'm very lucky to have been able to take so many in the past few years.

Since my bike ride, I:
- thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail in 2015
- rode my bike (halfway) from Ithaca, NY to Minneapolis, MN in 2016
- rode my bike from Santa Fe, NM to Minneapolis, MN in 2017
- thru-hiked the Colorado Trail in 2020

I post my adventures on Instagram.

Aside from biking and hiking, I adore cats, handcrafts (especially painting and embroidery), and home decorating. I've worked as a software engineer in app development, a bicycle delivery driver, and a conservation corps crew member - among other ventures.

Thank you for visiting my adventure blog, and happy trails!
