I left Halfway to a stunning sunrise, hoping to beat the worst of the heat.

Lots of climbing today, and it didn't feel like much descending.

I'm not really seeing other cyclists anymore, which is surprising because I'm on one of the most popular routes now.

And I hit the 3000 mile mark!

I'm in a city with an actual grocery store-- always exciting!

I have to go over three summits tomorrow, which I'm quite worried about...
